Samsung Introduces New Galaxy Book Odyssey Featuring the NVIDIA RTX 3050 Ti GPU

In what may be the biggest jump forward for graphics performance in a notebook, Samsung just introduced the Galaxy Book Odyssey, a gaming laptop with the NVIDIA RTX 3050 Ti GPU . To put this in perspective, current mainstream GPUs top out at the NVIDIA RTX 2070 (which has a 1544 MHz base clock and memory speed of 14 Gbps); the RTX 3050 Ti packs 1664 MHz base clock and memory speed of 16 Gbps. This means that Samsung’s Odyssey (and other laptops that employ the RTX 3050 Ti) will work better with newer PC games that place a premium on graphics and 3D rendering.

Samsung Electronics has introduced a new series of Galaxy Book devices built around the Samsung Odyssey (20XX). The series will replace the Galaxy TabPro S series due to the end of the Windows OS support. The Samsung Odyssey 20XX will be available in three SKUs: the Odyssey 20, Odyssey 30, and Odyssey 50, with the 20 and 30 featuring the NVIDIA RTX 3050 Ti GPU.

Samsung has planned an expansion of its Galaxy lineup for the second quarter of 2021, so it’s no surprise that two new devices will be added to the existing portfolio. The technology brand has unveiled the all-new Galaxy Book and Galaxy Book Odyssey, which are designed to transform the workday and further enhance the user experience in gaming and B2B.

The devices feature a sleek, compact design and innovative connectivity to the Galaxy ecosystem for a seamless user experience and productivity. And with the latest NVIDIA RTX 3050 Ti in the Galaxy Book Odyssey, users can now enjoy a powerful graphics experience with more flexibility and mobility of the device.

The beautifully designed Galaxy Book weighs 1.55 kg and the Galaxy Book Odyssey about 1.85 kg. Both devices are ideal for uninterrupted mobile working. The devices also have a slim, curved design with a silver, blue or black interior and exterior finish that give the device a premium look and feel.

The new Galaxy Book looks like most of the other devices in Samsung’s Galaxy lineup. They are compact, slim and, last but not least, very powerful. The Mystic Silver look is the main option, while the device is also available in another color option, Mystic Blue.

The laptop is equipped with the latest 11th generation Intel Core i3/i5/i7 processors. The new generation devices are equipped with the latest technologies to deliver an unparalleled and superior user experience and consistent performance. The device also features an Intel Iris Xe graphics processor for enhanced, vivid color reproduction without excessive saturation.

As for the screen, the Galaxy Book features a 15.6-inch FHD TFT LCD screen with 1080p resolution for crisp, clear images. It supports LTE connections, Wi-Fi 6 for uninterrupted wireless connections.

In terms of storage and RAM, the Galaxy Book features an NVMe SSD with up to 1TB for faster charging and storage, and up to 16GB of RAM for uninterrupted multitasking and intensive applications.

The device features a slim and ergonomic Pro keyboard that allows the user to type comfortably. Plus, the 54 Wh battery ensures long life without compromise, especially when you’re on the go and need the device to get the job done. It runs the Windows 10 Home/Pro operating system and provides access to all the latest Windows applications.

Samsung Galaxy Book Odyssey

The Odyssey is not only coming to market, but it is also the first device to be equipped with the latest NVIDIA RTX 3050 Ti GPU. Unlike the previous version, the Galaxy Book Odyssey comes in one color, Mystic Black, and offers a premium look and feel.

Like the Galaxy Book, this laptop also features a standard 15.6-inch FHD TFT LCD screen with 1080p resolution for superior viewing and playback with adaptive color reproduction.

The device is equipped with all the latest input/output ports, including USB Type-C, USB 3.2, HDMI, a security slot and several others. In terms of wireless communication and connectivity, the Galaxy Book Odyssey offers support for Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth v5.0 for excellent, uninterrupted connectivity.

The Galaxy Book Odyssey is equipped with the latest 11th generation Intel processors. Generation and the aforementioned RTX 3050 Ti GPU. It supports Dolby Atmos for superior sound quality and a fingerprint on power button for secure connection.

On the storage front, it features a solid state drive with up to 1TB of storage capacity and up to 32GB of RAM for superior performance and all-day productivity. The 83Wh battery and 135W USB Type-C charger provide faster charging so you can go wireless.

Prices and availability

While there isn’t much information yet on the price and availability of the Samsung Galaxy Book, there is some information on the Book Odyssey.

The Galaxy Book Odyssey would be available in August 2021 at a starting price of $1,399.
